$280 Million in ODOT TRAC Requests Creates Substantial Competition and Interest in P3s and EB-5 Transportation Funding

Funding for “major new capacity projects” with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are awarded through the Transportation Advisory Council (TRAC). Applications for TRAC funding were due on July 31, 2017, and 13 projects filed for a total of $280 M. The Ohio Transportation Budget, House Bill 26, recently enacted allocated $59.5 M in funding for Major New Program funding per year in the FY 2018-FY 2019 biennium, considerably less than the amount spent in this area during FY 2017.

New Projects Expected To Create More Than $1.4 Billion In Investments

Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 11 projects set to create 894 new jobs and retain 1,048 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $62 million in new payroll, and spur more than $1.4 billion in investments across Ohio.
