Transportation Director – Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA)
The Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA) has an immediate opening for a Transportation Director. A Bachelor’s degree in City & Regional Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering with a focus in transportation, or other related field and a minimum of five years of demonstrated transportation planning experience is required. Graduate degrees may count towards years of relevant experience.
The selected candidate will manage OMEGA’s transportation program and staff. Responsibilities include leading the development and revisions to regional transportation plans, transportation grant writing, and providing technical assistance to local communities regarding: roadway safety audits and programs, traffic counts, asset management, and active transportation systems. Responsibilities also include participation in statewide planning activities, meetings with federal, state and local officials; leading public outreach efforts; and other duties as assigned. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of Ohio transportation systems and community/regional planning is preferred. Regional travel and evening meetings will be regularly required. This is a full-time 40-hour per week position and salary is based upon education and experience. The successful candidate must possess a current valid Ohio driver’s license and be willing to attend evening meetings.
