About Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development: Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development (FHCED) provides economic development services in Hancock County, Ohio, working in partnership with The Alliance to drive investment, business retention and expansion, workforce development, and community planning across the region.
Position Description: The Associate Director, Economic Development & Investor Relations is a professional staff member appointed by the Executive Director with recommendation from the Economic Development Advisory Board. The primary responsibility of this role is to prioritize engagement with FHCED investors and other partners and stakeholders for the benefit of the organization and to provide economic development services in Hancock County, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial expenses as directed by the Executive Director.
- Establish and initiate conversations with investors and non-investors to promote FHCED and drive investment in the organization.
- Implement strategies regarding business retention and expansion, community planning, and business development as directed by the Executive Director.
- Continuously engage with the business community in Hancock County, public officials, and other partners to carry forward the mission of the division.
- Communicate with investors and others through social media, website, email, and other platforms as appropriate.
- Maintain digital platforms, including GIS tools, websites, social media, and customer relationship management (CRM).
- Represent Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development and The Alliance when collaborating with federal, state, and local governments and other partners in the public and private sectors.
- Engage with the public sector, business owners, and other community stakeholders about the vision of the future of the community in regard to infrastructure, utilities, development, and large impactful projects.
- Coordinate with local, state, and regional workforce partners on workforce development and workforce attraction initiatives.
- Engage with partners to pursue residential development and redevelopment activities.
- Collaborate with downtown stakeholders, the Chamber of Commerce, and others on downtown redevelopment efforts.
- Foster and maintain relationships with international partners, site selectors, and partners such as Regional Growth Partnership and JobsOhio.
- Facilitate small business growth and development by staying knowledgeable about local, regional, and state resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three or more years of experience working in a non-profit setting; economic development experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: The role requires extended periods of sitting and visual time in front of a computer, lifting and transporting materials for program setup and teardown, and the ability to work an occasional 12-to-15-hour day. Work is performed in a general office environment with a variety of event locations and frequent domestic and international business travel.
Salary Range and Benefits:
- $65,000–$90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
- Hybrid remote work in Findlay, OH.
