Position Overview
SEDB seeks a strategic and analytically minded leader to serve as Director of Site Strategy and Development. This role manages Stark County’s portfolio of development-ready assets as a competitive regional market, ensuring site supply aligns with traded sector strategy, infrastructure capacity, and long-term wage growth objectives.
The Director is responsible for building and advancing a disciplined, prioritized pipeline of industrial, commercial, and strategically important residential sites. The role moves beyond reactive inquiry response and establishes a proactive, data-driven site advancement framework that strengthens Stark County’s ability to compete for high wage investment.
This position carries clear accountability for measurable improvements in site readiness and competitive positioning and is expected to contribute independent analysis that informs executive and board-level decision making. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Development.
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in economic development, urban planning, public administration, real estate development, business, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in economic development, land development, commercial real estate, infrastructure planning, public-private partnerships, or a related field. The position offers a salary range of $85,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
