The Director of the Tuscarawas County Planning Commission is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all countywide planning and development functions under the authority of the County Commissioners. This role provides strategic direction and administrative oversight for comprehensive planning, zoning coordination, subdivision review, capital planning, and community and economic development initiatives, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and grant requirements. The Director collaborates closely with county departments, townships, municipalities, and state and federal partners; serves as a key liaison to elected officials and the public; supervises planning staff and consultant contracts; and leads long-range land use planning, infrastructure coordination, and data-driven decision-making. The position also manages planning-related grants, prepares reports and recommendations for the Planning Commission and County Commissioners, and represents the county on boards, committees, and regional planning efforts.
