OEDA seeks host communities for its Annual Summit
For the first time, location proposals sought for 400+ attendee conference
COLUMBUS, OHIO – TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12 – Today, the Ohio Economic Development Association (OEDA) announced that is accepting location proposals for its Annual Summit for the next two years. Interested communities and regions should complete the host committee interest form by December 9, 2024. The form can be found at surveymonkey.com/r/OEDASummit25 or using the QR Code below.
The Ohio Economic Development Association (OEDA), and its predecessor organization the Ohio Development Association (ODA), have been continuously holding an annual conference for Ohio’s economic development professionals and stakeholders since 1980.
Traditionally, the conference was held in central Ohio, but for the first time this year, the organization held the Summit in Toledo at the Glass City Center. The event was highly successful – with the largest attendance (430+ registrants), highest sponsorships, and high attendee satisfaction (4.1 on a 5.0 scale). Following the event, 93% of participants were in support of rotating the Summit around the state.
“This year’s Summit in Toledo demonstrated the strength of Ohio’s regions and the energy our host communities bring to the event,” said David Zak, President & CEO of OEDA. “Rotating the Summit location gives us the opportunity to showcase the diversity and economic potential across the state while making the event more accessible to our members in different regions. We’re excited to see which communities will step forward with creative proposals for our next Summit destinations.”
In response to attendee feedback, OEDA developed a selection process modeled off the International Economic Development Council, which is currently seeking indications of interest for its 2026 national conference. Next year’s IEDC conference will be held in Detroit.
OEDA hopes to select and announce the winning proposals before the end of the calendar year.
