Kettering is seeking a high performing leader, with a diverse background, who can help the City realize its economic and community development objectives. The successful candidate will have significant experience in leading teams and in-depth knowledge of economic development, planning, real estate and community revitalization strategies. Practical, working knowledge, and a proven track record of using a wide array of economic development financing tools is expected. The ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team to shape redevelopment plans for targeted areas of the City is essential.
Manager, Early Stage Investment Funds – Ohio Department of Development
As the Manager, Early Stage Investment Funds, you will primarily be responsible for the administration of the Ohio Third Frontier Pre-Seed Fund Capitalization Program, the SSBCI Ohio Early Stage Focus Fund, and the SSBCI Ohio Venture Fund. These programs are designed to support Ohio tech-based companies by helping to increase the amount of early-stage capital invested in Ohio technology-based companies, accelerate the growth of high-potential companies, and create a climate that supports the development, retention, and attraction of technology companies in Ohio. The programs provide loans to professionally-managed investment funds, which then invest in early-stage technology companies throughout Ohio.

Port Authority Celebrates Award-Winning SBDC Member
(Wilmington, Ohio) The Clinton County Port Authority is pleased to congratulate David Riggs, Director of the SBDC at Miami Regionals, for being named Ohio’s SBDC State Star in 2021.
America’s SBDC, the national association that represents the nationwide network of Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs), annually recognizes one outstanding SBDC employee from each of its 62 members. This outstanding employee exhibits exemplary performance, makes a significant contribution to their state or regional SBDC program, and shows a strong commitment to small business. Using a peer-based selection process, the Ohio SBDC network selected David Riggs for Ohio’s SBDC State Star.
Tiffin Foundry and Machine to invest in new machinery and equipment
Tiffin Foundry and Machine has announced it will purchase new machinery and hire more staff with assistance from a $50,000 JobsOhio Inclusion Grant. Tiffin Foundry has eight employees in Tiffin, and has an additional operation in North Ridgeville, Ohio.
JobsOhio’s grant, secured with assistance from the Regional Growth Partnership, will support a planned $321,923 in machinery and equipment upgrades and three new jobs. In addition, Tiffin Foundry and Machine worked with Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership and OhioMeansJobs – Seneca County on other potential incentives to support the company’s growth.
Seneca County Brewery Tour Announced Featuring Local Breweries
The Seneca County Brewery Tour has been announced to take place on Saturday August 14, 2021, beginning at 3pm. The Brewery Tour is put on in partnership with Bliss Charters, Destination Seneca County, Downtown Tiffin, Fostoria Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, and Shuff Consulting.
Champaign Economic Partnership Hosts Festive Community Career Fair
The Champaign Economic Partnership (CEP) and partnering organizations provided about 20 Champaign County employers an opportunity to recruit prospects for numerous careers in a festive outdoor setting, on the former Urbana University campus.
The Champaign County Career Fair shared the spotlight and campus with a youth football camp led by Ohio State University football legends Braxton Miller and Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith, with the support of several of their teammates and former OSU coach Jim Tressel.
