Workforce Collaborative Receives Economic Development Award from Mid-America Economic Development Council

The Clinton County Workforce Collaborative (Collaborative) was recognized by the Mid-America Economic Development Council at the 2023 Mid-America Competitiveness Conference, held November 29-December 1, in Indianapolis. The Collaborative received the Workforce & Talent (Large Division) Award in acknowledgement of the rapidity and effectiveness of the projects and initiatives brought forward by the Collaborative’s participating members. The panel of judges especially noted the ability of the Collaborative to mobilize the necessary resources in a rural county.

State News

The start of the 135th General Assembly was marked with uncertainty and turmoil after Rep. Jason Stephens secured the Ohio House speakership after a single vote, toppling Rep. Derek Merrin (R-Monclova Twp.).  Though Rep. Stephens was immediately sworn in by former speaker Bob Cupp, Stephens’ authority and power being questioned after the election created major divides among House Republicans.

2020 OEDA Annual Summit

After much contemplation and consideration, the OEDA leadership has made the decision to proceed with the 2020 OEDA Annual Summit in a virtual format.  The Virtual Annual Summit will be presented over the original in-person dates – September 29-October 1.  We will all certainly miss seeing our Ohio colleagues in person, but the OEDA leadership feels that safety must be the first priority.
