Zoning Inspector – City of Middletown

The City of Middletown is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Zoning Inspector. This position is responsible for administration and enforcement of Middletown’s Development Code. Under general supervision, the Zoning Inspector is a professional position with a high degree of independence and responsibility for assuring compliance of City zoning regulations. Minimum Requirements: One (1) to two (2) years of equivalent experience in municipal planning, zoning, or public administration.

Director of Business Development and Administration

Summary: The Director of Business Development and Administration works closely with all members of the Tuscarawas County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC) team to identify, develop and implement a proactive business development program that includes business retention/expansion and business attraction activities that result in the creation and retention of jobs and increased tax base in Tuscarawas County. The position also manages the Real Estate holdings of the TCEDC, the Economic Development and Finance Alliance (EDFA), and the Tuscarawas County Community Improvement Corporation (TCCIC).

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and directing an effective program of direct outreach, communications, support services and technical problem solving to support the growth of existing Tuscarawas County businesses, development and support of business recruitment activities, support of WEDC marketing initiatives, and coordination of partner resources to bring business and economic development projects to fruition.

This position requires a flexible, team player who will assist faculty, professional staff, and students with technical assistance, applied research, data compilation/analysis, project administration, oral presentations, and report writing in the area of community and economic development. Position will directly apply knowledge of local and state economic development policies and tools specific to Ohio. As such, the position requires a familiarity and experience with Port Authorities, Special Improvement Districts, Joint Economic Development Districts, tax abatement/credit programs, enterprise bond funds, grant programs, and other tools available to support economic development efforts in Ohio.
