The Ohio Economic Development Association (OEDA) is proud to congratulate the winners and finalists of the 2019 Annual Excellence Awards! Recognition was presented at the 2019 Annual Summit, held at the Embassy Suites Columbus-Dublin.

The Ohio Economic Development Association’s Annual Excellence Awards program recognizes the achievements of individuals and organizations throughout Ohio in the areas of economic and workforce development.

“The Annual Excellence Awards showcase the best of the best in economic development and gives members of the profession the opportunity to come together and collectively celebrate the success of the economic development profession,” Jennifer Price, OEDA Executive Director, said.

Third Made in Medina County Expo a Huge Success

A diverse committee that included Medina County Economic Development professionals, Chamber of Commerce executives, as well as the manufacturing and business communities hosted the third Made in Medina County Expo on October 4, from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm, at the Medina County Fairgrounds Community Center. 

Strengthening the U.S. Workforce Pipeline Through Collaborative Action

Like so many regions across the United States, Northeast Ohio is experiencing an imbalance in workforce demand and supply: Job opportunities abound in growing, high-potential industries, but the current talent pool lacks the appropriate knowledge and skills to fill many of these positions. Economic development, corporate, workforce and education partners have joined forces to address this situation with urgency, working to build a strong, qualified talent pipeline to meet the present and future needs of the region’s businesses.
