Administrator, Development – Cuyahoga County

This is a senior management classification with responsibility for planning, directing, and managing a
division of the Development Department. This classification supervises Development Housing
Specialists, Economic and Community Development Program Specialists, Inspection and Permits
Supervisor, and other assigned staff. The incumbent works under administrative direction from the
Department of Development’s Deputy Director, and work requires the analysis and solution of
operational, technical, administrative, and management problems related to economic development,
community development, or compliance and regulation. Employees in this classification direct a major
component of operations and have the responsibility of participating in the establishment and
implementation of their assigned division’s objectives, policies, budgets, and operations. The incumbent
exercises discretion in applying policies and procedures to resolve organizational issues and to ensure
that assigned activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

New Industrial Spec Building in Tiffin Announced

Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP) has announced plans for a speculative or “spec” industrial building on a 12-acre site on Maule Road in the Eagle Rock Business Park. A purchase agreement between the City of Tiffin and Development Solutions LLC has been drawn up, and sale is contingent upon approval by Tiffin City Council.

Ohio Expands Eligibility Footprint for Rural Industrial Park Loan Program

The state of Ohio, through adoption of the biennial budget, approved new language to expand the eligibility criteria, along with renewed funding, for one of Ohio Development Services Agency’s highly subscribed industrial development programs. The Rural Industrial Park Loan Program (RIPL) promotes economic development across rural areas in the state. The program provides low-interest loans to assist with financing the development and improvement of industrial parks and related off-site public infrastructure improvements and has been an extremely attractive tool in encouraging industrial development in rural communities.

Port Authority Named A “Best Workplace” For Second Year

(Wilmington, Ohio) For the second year in a row, the Clinton County Port Authority has been selected by Ohio Business Magazine as a “Best Workplace in Ohio.”

The magazine’s annual program recognizes workplaces in a variety of categories, with the Port Authority recognized as a government entity with fewer than 50 employees. Nominations, which were submitted in May, collected information about employee engagement, benefits, and awards and recognitions. A committee compiled by the magazine selected the winners.
