$500 Million Available for Brownfield Funding in Ohio

Ohio’s 2022-2023 budget recently signed by Governor DeWine, allocates $500 million in new brownfield funding. Funding will be administered by the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) which must adopt rules for allocation of brownfield funding and the demolition program. The rules will determine project eligibility and administration of the program.

Event Brings Small Businesses and Government Buyers Together

Small businesses will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with government buyers at the local, state, and federal level in the virtual 2021 Ohio Business Matchmaker.

The largest small business-to-government contracting event in the state will be conducted in an online format again in 2021 on Nov. 17 and 18.

GOPC Launches Brownfields Website as a Resource for the newly funded Brownfields Remediation Fund

Brownfields stakeholders are excited for the newly established Brownfields Remediation Fund through the state budget passed earlier this year. An investment of $350 million will provide Ohio’s cities with grant dollars to remediate brownfields in their communities. In addition, the budget included a new Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program, which will provide $150 million for commercial and residential demolition and site revitalization.

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) is seeking public comments on the 2021 draft update to the Columbus Region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
