The City of Painesville is seeking a qualified Director of Planning to perform planning & zoning functions. Position requires a working supervisor that is responsible for all planning functions & works with Housing Inspectors on zoning issues. Individual will prepare, coordinate implementation & maintain the long-term planning goals of the City including the Comprehensive Plan & other planning documents. Must work with residents, developers, various agencies & staff regarding the requirements of the Unified Development Code. Ideal candidate has excellent communication & presentation skills, works well in a fast-paced work environment & thrives on managing a variety of projects. Qualified applicant must have a thorough understanding of planning & zoning principles, ability to supervise, work well with others & resolve problems. Will be required to attend evening meetings. $85,385 annually DOQ with excellent benefits. Application must be filled out & a thorough background check will be conducted for finalist.
