Fremont, Ohio – The Brown Machine Group has elected to transition all thermoform tooling production to its Freeman Company facility in Fremont, Ohio.  The decision was based on Freeman’s existing capabilities, workforce, and outstanding reputation as the premiere thermoform tooling builder in the US.  “Customers often place initial orders with Freeman based on our facility and advanced capabilities, they become long term repeat customers because of our people and the unprecedented service and support we provide” stated Mike Mullholand, General Manager of the Freeman Company.

Freeman has a proven record of innovation and product performance leadership, led by an experienced engineering and production staff. Freeman endeavors to build the highest performance tooling with unmatched quality and service with a goal of maximizing the customer’s value proposition.  This was made clear when Brown Machinery Group (BMG), a Beaverton Michigan based manufacturer of thermoforming and downstream automation equipment, purchased thermoform tooling maker Freeman Company in January of 2018.

The thermoform tooling production move consolidates all tooling in one facility and represents an expected 40% increase to Freeman’s sales.  BMG’s Brown/Lyle divisions in Beaverton will focus efforts on growing the company’s equipment and aftermarket business maintaining their current staffing. Freeman will retain all 70 of their current employees and expects to hire 15 more individuals over the next 12 months to handle the additional tooling work at the Fremont facility. “I am excited to learn the Freeman Company is growing and adding 15 new jobs” stated City of Fremont Mayor Danny Sanchez.  “Freeman is a well-respected manufacturer in our community, and I look forward to all their future success”. Freeman is currently working to fill open positions for CNC Machinists, Programmers, as well as a Tooling Designer position.  Those interested can submit resumes to hr@freemancompany.com.
