The Regional Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Cincinnati is the first point-of-contact for any company looking to locate to or expand within the 15-county Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) of southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana, otherwise referred to as the Cincinnati region. The Vice President of Marketing & Strategic Communications owns marketing and communications for the organization and is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and administering high-profile marketing initiatives, creative needs, programs, and projects relating to business recruitment, development, and retention. The Vice President is the leader of proactive regional branding for REDI Cincinnati, as well as content creation for lead generation campaigns, marketing analysis, project win announcements, and developing and implementing strategic direction in alignment with the organization’s goals.  This role works closely with all functions.

This vice president position reports to the President and CEO, manages two direct employees, and works with identifying and directing a variety of partners, external agencies and consultants.

Qualifications:
Proven demonstrated experience, ideally 8-10 years, as a VP of Marketing, Marketing Director or equivalent, relatable senior role. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or relevant field; experience in economic development a plus. Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful lead generation campaigns. Solid knowledge of developing strategies for communications and marketing (including marketing experience in B2B and lead generation).

Duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Serve as owner of long-range marketing and communications strategies for REDI Cincinnati – providing leadership, strategic counsel, execution and reporting.
  • Development of communication plans that are strategic, segmented, coordinated, in alignment with the Leadership’s expectations, and are effective expenditures of resources. Assure key messaging through all marketing, communications, media relations and public relations opportunities aligns with REDI’s strategic focus, emphasizes REDI’s value proposition and protects the REDI brand.
  • Creation of innovative marketing and business development support strategies that build the company’s brand and lead pipeline.
  • Work with the organization’s Vice President of Strategic Growth to conduct market analysis that helps identify opportunities for growth and forecast future opportunities.
  • Design, monitor and capitalize all digital marketing campaigns and identify opportunities for continued improvement; leverage multiple platforms to support lead generation.
  • Track marketing and campaign metrics and benchmark against competitor activities. Prepare regular reports and presentations on marketing activities and metrics for the President & CEO, the Leadership team, JobsOhio, and REDI’s Board of Directors.
  • Provide oversight and administration for the marketing & communications function including leading and managing marketing and communications team members; developing and managing the marketing and communications budget; prioritizing projects and announcements and allocating resources accordingly; and managing external vendors.
  • Serve as an advisor to the President & CEO and a member of the senior leadership team. Provide cross-functional assistance for all departments at REDI Cincinnati in support of their objectives.

Work environment:
The environment is typical of an office environment with a hybrid schedule. This position requires commuting to the office, located in downtown Cincinnati, as well as travel to and attendance at REDI Cincinnati events—both locally and out of state as required.
