Summary of Position
The Research Coordinator is a member of the JobsOhio Research Team. The Research team locates data sources, researches, analyzes, curates, shares, brainstorms, evaluates and mentors across functional, mission-critical workflows. The Research team produces and maintains self-service tools, and performs custom research to help Ohio see and win new jobs and capital investment. To support this work, the team manages about 20 external data and insights vendors and coordinates with regional researchers. The Research Coordinator position includes vendor activity coordination, content curation, and facilitating best-in-class internal and external communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
As Research Coordinator you will serve as a member of the Research team, working with internal staff at JobsOhio, coordinating vendor and partner relationships, curating information, tracking and reporting team performance metrics, and standardizing and documenting processes.
- Process and Procedures Coordination
- Standardize, organize and maintain Research team documentation of practices and output formats on an ongoing basis
- Maintain tools for tracking and performance and effectiveness of processes and outputs
- Track and distribute Research Team and regional partner metrics that monitor the performance and effectiveness of processes and outputs
- Implement and communicate changes to processes and related documentation
- Vendor Process Coordination
- Identify and summarize new opportunities with existing and potential vendors
- Maintain excellent working relationships with vendors and serve as the point of contact for matters concerning vendor evaluation feedback, contracts, invoicing
- Arrange for members of the Research team to communicate and meet with vendors to discuss business matters, and participate in meetings to record key issues and next steps
- Evaluate and execute vendor contracts and related invoice processing
- Monitor vendor contracts and actively manage team feedback about, and coordinate vendor contract extensions and renewals with JobsOhio legal team
- In coordination with the JobsOhio legal and accounting teams, maintain process and records for correspondence and documentation related to contracts, and ensure all related documents are accurate, well-maintained and accessible to other members of the team
- Coordination of Research Team Feedback
- The Research team comments on draft outputs of cross functional teams within JobsOhio, our partners, and vendors. The Research Coordinator will establish, communicate, capture, and organize, and share this feedback as needed.
- Tech and Tools Coordination
- Partner with team to develop and influence the tech tools plan for each FY, and for instrumentation and features needed for each
- Manage license numbers, access levels for each subscriber
- Ensure business processes are documented for use of each tool
- File Curation Coordination
- Ensure commonly used materials are accessible to internal and external teams.
- Improve current team electronic file (Box) folder structure to better serve internal/external teams’ needs. This includes reorganizing the folder structure and contents for a more efficient user experience.
- Serve as the point of contact for matters concerning team electronic file (Box) folders.
Experience Requirements
- Experienced in vendor management, research or data management support role.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including an ability to work across functions and organizations.
- Ability to establish strong collaborative working relationship structures across a broad spectrum of partners.
- Well-organized, detail and results-focused, problem solver.
- Resourceful and willing to take initiative.
- Familiar and versed in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), and one or more online file management and/or database systems.
- Interest in a career within economic development, research, and information management and/or project management.
- Some experience supporting quantitative or qualitative research and/or analysis is desired.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
