It takes a team to achieve the results Ohio reached in 2018 and the Governor’s Cup rankings are a testament to that. Site Selection released its annual Governor’s Cup rankings, and Ohio earned the No. 2 spot for total qualified projects in 2018 for the fifth consecutive year and placed third in qualified projects per capita. The recognition makes Ohio, for the third consecutive year, the only state to place in the top three of both categories.

A national economic development publication, Site Selection magazine, recently announced that of the 551 micropolitans in the United States, Fremont-Sandusky County has been recognized as one of the top 20 micropolitan regions in the country for business investment and expansion. Fremont-Sandusky County was the 19th ranking. In 2018, Sandusky County had a total of 49 projects and $283M in Capital Investment. Northwest Ohio had 5 micropolitans rank in the top 50 of the nation with a total of 116 projects and $3.2B in capital investment. Ohio which produced 17 Top 100 micropolitans overall, ranked number 3 in the Country for 2018 Top States by Projects Per Capita and number 2 by total number of projects.
