The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber recently welcomed David Wilaj to the team in the newly created position of director of the Mahoning Valley Logistics Council.
The Director, Government Affairs of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is a public policy specialist who coordinates legislative efforts by working with local, state and federal governments. The Director supports the Regional Chamber’s efforts to meet legislative goals by creating policy proposals and working with government agencies and local employers. The Government Affairs Director performs research, organizes events, writes policy and manages internal/external communications.
The Director of Community Planning and Development will perform a variety of administrative, technical and professional work in preparation for and implementation of economic and community development plans, programs and services. This position is responsible for serving as the pro-bono Executive Director of the Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) and will work closely with the Mayor to develop and maintain relationships with the members of the business community.
Individual works independent and in concert with the Director of Economic Development and the Economic Development Team. Responsibilities include administering community/economic development programs, such as housing, transportation, and workforce oriented endeavors. Further, the position is responsible for promoting and facilitating expansion of the County’s economic base in order to realize enhanced non-residential tax revenues, especially in the area of Business Retention and Expansion. Individual reports to the Director of Economic Development.
