The purpose of this classification is to coordinate and manage economic and community development programs that support business and commercial vitality. This is a professional level classification that is responsible for administering economic development programs and servicing a portfolio of economic development loans and grants. The incumbent is expected to work independently and ensure that all activities are performed in a timely manner and according to policies, procedures, and regulations. May function as lead worker.

Senior Planner – Clark County Community & Economic Development

Review, analyze, prepare, and make recommendations to various Planning Boards and Commissions relative to Community & Economic Development and related regulations. Performs technical duties in support of the County’s local zoning enforcement program; monitors and enforces a variety of applicable regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance, health and safety, blight and other matters of public concern; and serves as a resource and provides information on County regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, the general public, and other County departments and divisions.
