Manager, Communications & Business Services – Firelands Forward

This dynamic full-time position supports Firelands Forward, a business-driven workforce development initiative managed by the Erie County Economic Development Corporation. Firelands Forward is a new collaborative effort of local businesses, education partners, and non-profits in Erie, Huron, & Ottawa Counties who seek to build a place that competitively attracts, retains, and develops talent. This position supports that vision by helping local employers create and promote best practice work places and leading talent attraction efforts for the community at large. We seek an individual looking to make a difference, supporting their community and economy, with a background in human resources or marketing and communications. 

Project Manager – Geauga County Community & Economic Development

Under general supervision from the Director, manages and implements grant funded programs (e.g. Revolving Loan Fund Program, CDBG/Formula Program, and Fair Housing Program); Under general supervision coordinates, organizes, and maintains community and economic development incentive programs, services and information for clients; Prepares departmental budget request; Monitors, prepares, and maintains various financial records, reports, agreements, grants, contracts, and related miscellaneous documents, coordinates fiscal activities of the department; provides supervision to other staff on grant programs; performs public relations functions and attends other meetings as directed; performs related duties as required.

Development Services Manager – Miami County Community Improvement Corporation

Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Miami County Community Improvement Corporation, the Development Services Manager shall manage the daily coordination of economic development services and administrative functions. This person also oversees business retention & expansion efforts, marketing plan implementation, workforce development efforts, research studies and analyses, business attraction efforts, special local and regional initiatives, and the reporting and tracking of incentive programs. The Development Services Manager shall also provide general administrative support to the CIC Board of Trustees and its various committees.

Economic Development Administrator – City of Dublin, Ohio

Serves as an action-oriented, detailed project manager, proactively initiating cutting-edge economic development programs and executing the City of Dublin’s Economic Development strategic plan. Supports the City’s overall vision of being a global city of choice. Builds relationships with the Dublin business community and other regional, state, and international partners to recognize and develop policies and programs that serve as differentiators for the City of Dublin commercial tax base. Administers the City’s Business Retention and Expansion Program organized by Business District. Proactively markets the City of Dublin for economic development attraction projects (regional, state, national, international). Assists with programs related to business creation, innovation and entrepreneurship. Collaborates with local, regional, and statewide partners to implement workforce development initiatives.

Senior Development Specialist – Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA)

The Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA) has an immediate opening for a Senior Development Specialist.  A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in planning, public or business administration or related fields and three to five years of experience in public economic development or planning agency is required. The selected candidate will manage OMEGA’s Resilience Initiative for Southeastern and Eastern (RISE) Ohio Initiative, a U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) Assistance to Coal Communities program initiative led by Ohio University’s Voinovich School, Buckeye Hills Regional Council, and OMEGA, focused on economic diversification; Opportunity Zone planning, development, and investment; and assistance to communities impacted by coal fired power plant closures.  Experience with investments in opportunity zones and other economic development tools preferred.
