Position:
The City of Sharonville is proactively seeking a dynamic and experienced economic development professional to direct and coordinate programs that enhance and diversify the economic base of the City. Under the executive direction of the Mayor and Safety/Service Director, the Economic Development Director will provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management in advancing the City of Sharonville’s economic development objectives. The primary responsibility of this position will be to cultivate strategic partnerships while continuing to support the City’s thriving large and small business environments. The position is also responsible for engaging a variety of stakeholders; including, community leaders, developers, and the City’s educational, industrial and hospitality partners.

About the City of Sharonville:
The City of Sharonville is conveniently located 15 miles north of downtown Cincinnati, situated off interstates 75 and 275 and nestled in both Hamilton and Butler Counties. Sharonville has approximately 13,500 residents and, due in large part to its large diverse workforce, a daytime population that exceeds 40,000. The City prides itself on being a vibrant, close-knit community that strongly supports its businesses and visitors.

Sharonville’s tax structure, location, and existing business foundation have been catalysts for driving the city’s growth. It is of one of the few cities in the State of Ohio that does not levy property taxes. It is home to a wide variety of businesses including Ford Motor Company, Gorilla Glue, StandardAero, and Jacobs Engineering. The city boasts dozens of small and medium sized businesses, 25 hotels, and a thriving and diverse selection of restaurants.

City departments include Administration & Finance; Economic Development; Community Development; Convention Center; Public Works; Police; Fire & EMS; Mayor’s Court; and Parks & Recreation.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with major course work in business, public administration, marketing, economics, and/or a similar discipline. A combination of additional education or professional experience and training may be considered.
  2. At least two (2) years of responsible experience in public, non-profit, or private sector economic development or related activities.
  3. Economic Developer certification desirable.

Salary and Benefits:
The compensation package includes an anticipated salary range of $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 commensurate with education and experience.
