On the local level, the Lawrence Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) took the challenge head-on by finding new ways to adapt and continue work from beyond the office.

Open streets, “streateries,” shared streets, expanded sidewalks, new bike lanes and more are popping up from city to town in an effort to save the lifeblood of their local economies and the heart and soul of their communities.

Innovation Greenway Funds Approved

Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) recently received a state appropriation of $50,000 from S.B. 310, State Capital Budget funds to move forward into the next planning phase for the Innovation Greenway. This multi-acre green space will be integrated into the developments at Martin Luther King Drive and Reading Road with most of the Greenway running through the Node development.
