Classification: Education & Development Officer

Job Description:

Under general direction
  • Promotes economic development initiatives and operations to achieve goals and objectives by formulating and implementing marketing strategies
  • Works with management team to create marketing and outreach materials, including brochures, and reports
  • Develop accurate, accessible, and up to date information on WRCF accomplishments, projects, and program data
  • Creates curriculum for technical and supportive services as they relate to WRCF loan programs and to strengthen borrowers knowledge specifically on loan readiness, financial literacy and best practices.
  • Develop capacities through strategically designed technical support, trainings, grant administration, and learning opportunities in collaboration with community partners
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops
  • Work with lending officers to support clients and to advise them of the loan process
  • Track organizational and programmatic funding needs to develop, recommend, and implement a fundraising strategy and calendar for foundation, government, and corporate sources
  • Develops and writes grant proposals to support WRCF loan funds, programs, and operations
  • Oversee and track grant milestones including, proposals in development, proposals submitted, proposals issue or canceled, deliverable deadlines, communication, and awards
  • Manages the identification and acquisition of new funding opportunities, renewal and further development of current funders and on-going funder relations, including reporting and relationship management
  • Presents self in a professional, ethical, and culturally sensitive manner to coworkers, partners, and the public
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, and/or assigned
Qualifications or Equivalent Combinations for Training and/or Experience:
  • Completion of bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or closely related discipline
  • Three to five years experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, education, and/or external affairs
  • Experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities to perform the duties of the position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Desire to implement new marketing strategies.
  • Understanding of small business and nonprofit financial principals and practice.
  • Comfortable leading and participating in classroom environments.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend fundraising opportunities to Vice President, Managing Director, and Board of Directors for approval
  • Understanding of grant writing, fundraising, and development donor relationships with banks, foundations, corporations, individuals, and local, state, and federal agencies
  • Assist and/or prepare project applications for state and federal funding
  • Ability to set priorities for a challenging workload and take initiative
  • Able to determine opportunities through analysis of current and future trends
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively with co-workers and stakeholders from the nonprofit, corporate, philanthropic, and public sectors
  • Monitor agreement compliance

Work Environment: 

  • Job is physically comfortable, requires sitting, walking, standing, bending, keying, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions
  • Work is performed in an office setting and employee will be exposed to normal hazards associated with an office environment
  • Employee may be required to travel and access various assigned work sties, other offices, and agencies
  • Must regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Salary Range: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 annually
