Director of Planning – City of Painesville

The City of Painesville is seeking a qualified Director of Planning to perform planning & zoning functions. Position requires a working supervisor that is responsible for all planning functions & works with Housing Inspectors on zoning issues. Individual will prepare, coordinate implementation & maintain the long-term planning goals of the City including the Comprehensive Plan & other planning documents.

OWDA funds $15M loan for Crestline sewer plant

The Village of Crestline announced today that the Ohio Water Development Authority (OWDA) has funded a $14.9 million Water Pollution Control Loan. The loan was approved by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) earlier this month, and now the Village can move forward with the $19.5 million relocation and rebuild of their existing sewer plant. Groundbreaking is tentatively scheduled for March 20, and the construction is expected to be completed within two years.

Huron County Students Experience Engineering Careers

The Huron County Business Advisory Council (BAC) hosted an “Engineering Day” for high school students who tested for an Architecture, Construction, or Engineering aptitude. These students visited area businesses, including the Huron County Engineer’s Office, BORGERS, Fabriweld, Mark Schaffer Excavating & Trucking and a presentation about the Engineering Tech program at EHOVE.

Foundation, City Partner to Develop Barberton Site

In November, Barberton Community Foundation purchased the former B&P Polishing property located at 401 Newell Street in Barberton, Ohio. The long-vacant, 36-acre site will be redeveloped for industrial use and several prospects have been identified, with a local company already claiming 15 of those acres for expansion.

Economic Development Director, Cambridge-Guernsey County CIC

The Economic Development Director will plan, direct and supervise all activities of the Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation and Port Authority to attract, expand, enhance and retain business in Guernsey County. The Economic Development Director through his/her leadership and expertise will maintain close relationships with the Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, private and public stakeholders, and existing and potential businesses to enhance and improve the local economy.
